Large Canvas - More Terrain

So I've been sitting on this post for nearly a year! Just never got around to finishing it up. It was quite a year for me however, so I completely forgive myself. Let's just finally get back to it... some new miniature terrain:

Note: I played around with some lighting and a background. I ended up ordering one more light for the setup. Hopefully this works better for improved photography!

Walling up the Compound - Fogou Scatter Terrain

Since I'm still healing up, I find myself at the painting desk a bit more. So sometimes you just look over at the shelf and see what's something that's just asking for paint. In this case I grabbed some short walls from Fogou Models. You can never have too much scatter terrain after-all!

Our heroes duck behind cover as the wild beasts descend on their position.

Warehouses Now Available! - A Photography Backdrop

The world of Locustae 5 is covered in wreckage and old starships that are no longer useful. Most are fought over for scrapping rights, as many lucrative parts are still waiting to be discovered. Many are also used as make shift homes and warehouses. After all, what's a better building than one already constructed to safe the occupants from the hazards of space travel?

Some locals come to trade their goods in town.

November Terrain

Here I present November's terrain piece: an industrial tank addon from Archon Studio's latest Rampart Modular Terrain kickstarter.  A little late, but mostly done before the holiday's and a visit from family put a hold on any painting. Just worked on the details in the first week of December...

Everyone needs a good tank for Scifi scenery!

And only posted it today...

October Terrain

Finished up a little piece of terrain the other day. It's some sort of boiler, or tank... or something. Just glad to fit in something to keep up with the monthly terrain output.

Random tank that looks industrial... check!

When your buddy has a 3D printer...

So a buddy of mine I met through wargaming and have been friends with for decades now, got seriously into 3D printing. The benefit for me? I don't need to worry about it. I can just place an order with him. Then one day he was telling me about some prints that failed. I said "oh save them for me!"... and so we come to this:

Garbage? No a wonderful pile of junk to hide behind!

A wonderful pile of junk to wargame around!

Filling up the Battlefield

I finished up some terrain in August for the monthly piece of terrain challenge my buddy and I are working on. While it's finally getting posted in September; I assure you it was painted in August. All it needed was varnish, but rain and other projects kept it from finishing until now:

Did the ship ruin the building?

Convention Haul - Historicon 2022

I made it to a Convention today for the first time in a long time... and I did pretty well with the deals! Check it out:
The Haul from Historicon 2022.

This is just a quick post to say hello and show off some cool stuff. Unfortunately I have one of those getting older injuries keeping me from the Summer of Eldar... you know the ones. You hurt yourself and don't know how or why it happened? Just seemingly woke up with it? That's a muscle in my painting arm right now. I guess I pulled it while I slept...

So anyway, continue reading to check out my new stuff.

Rainy day painting - Various miniatures

The two mercenaries were hot on the trail of the Marquis de Maw. They didn't see themselves as bounty hunters, but a job is a job. Finally, they had him cornered. "It's all over Maw!". However in response they heard a laugh, as Marquis de Maw faded away. "Dammit! Just a damn hologram! I told you we weren't no hunters." The other grumbled as he put away his pistols and walked away.

While I was painting the Eldar HQ units and the servo skull a few weeks back, I found myself waiting for paint to dry. Usually I have something to do around the house. However it was a wet, rainy weekend so I had extra time at the desk. So I grabbed a miniature off the primed shelf and got to work... then I added another and another... until I had finished 5 additional models!

Not So Lost Cargo

Painted more shipping containers, and a piece of a ship's hull. Had some fun with some Tamiya masking tape and Army Painters Rust effects paint. IMHO the Tamiya tape is definitely worth the money for miniatures over painters tape. Rust paint worked great too! Not much more to say, so enjoy:

Did you know over 3000 shipping containers were lost at sea last year?

More photo's after the jump.

Setting a Scene

So I've been having a lot of fun painting lately, but mainly figures. When I was talking to my buddy he told me he's trying to work on at least one piece of terrain a month. That sounded like a good idea, so I worked it into my routine:

Ancient statue to some unknown race.

This ancient statue and these shipping crates have really nothing to do with each other, I just chose them to paint first.
