Recon Team Delta - Reinforcements
Games Workshop has revealed that a new version of Killteam is on it's way. I was apprehensive at first, as I don't feel I played nearly enough games of the current edition. Then the rules started trickling out, and I was surprised how much they changed. At this point I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be a very nice update and a fun new ruleset. So why not celebrate by finishing up my current Killteam's before I have to re-build and expand for the new rules!

Recon Team Delta
Among the Guardian Angel Space Marine Chapter there are several scout forces. The one known as "Recon Team Delta" was known for several key engagements in the past, but has been quiet for some time. Comprised of the 8th and 9th squads of the chapter's 4th company, the team was known for its marksmanship and working behind enemy lines. Now rumor has it, they are back to prove they still have what it takes.

Patience of a Space Elf
We took a few days to meet up with some family this weekend... so no progress to show off this week. So instead let me show you a model I'm patiently waiting to find the right deal on:

I finally finished one... or three...
I finally found a decent amount of time to paint, and completed a few miniatures. So here's to an update on my Genestealer killteam.
I still need to learn some photograph techniques...
Imperial records of the Genestealer Cult known as The Devil's Adders is very limited. Unlike other Genestealer cults, this group has only been seen in small numbers and is known to be lead by a leader only know as the Snatcher-Devil. In each appearance of this group they have been known to use military precision to strike from the shadows, only to disappear as quickly as they arrived. A report from one incident claimed to have left the Snatcher-Devil mortally wounded. However no body was recovered, so the reoccurrence of this villain leaves that report in question. A request has been sent for an imperial investigator to look into this group further.

Hobbs' Angels
More snow and family things to tend to this week, so no new finished models to look at. So let's meet the second Killteam I have some models in the work for:
Founded sometime in the current millennium is the young Chapter of Space Marines known as the Guardian Angels. They are a fleet based chapter constantly on recruitment to fill their numbers. Due to these factors, they have a higher than normal number of scouts. This has cemented their reputation as a recon force among the imperium.
The Guardian Angels lead the way!
The origins of the Guardians seems to be a secret. Some say they are successors of the Dark Angels; though that's likely due to their iconography and early actions with the founding chapter. Others point towards a successor of the Salamanders due to their high use of melta weapons and some lizard trophies carried amongst the brothers. There are even rumors they are some sort of experamental chapter by the High Lords of Terra founded by veterans of a few chapters. Whatever the truth may be, they are certainly founding their own place in history very quickly through their actions.

From Cult to Killteam
When I jumped into Warhammer 40K: Killteam I immediately knew who I wanted to play. Sure, I could pull from my very first 40K army of Eldar, or my early 2000's space marine army could send a squad; but no this had to be the genestealer cult. They never really saw battle before as stated in the previous post. Their time had finally arrived! Plus in 2018 not only was the cult back in the 40K universe, they were front and center. Heck, they even came as one of the two forces in the original Killteam starter box!
- For a leader I'll save the points for beasts, and just have a Neophyte.
- Specialists: with their bad BS I'll go with two flamers, and a Heavy Stubber for range.
- I'd really like an Aberrant. A big beast to soak wounds and draw attention.
- I'll take two Pure-strains because why not?
- The rest will fill out with a mix of Acolytes and Neophytes.
- They will all have code names - was never into the whole cult brother this/that.
Disclaimer:, back when I started these guys there weren't as defined lines as to what was what. I could pull a bunch of guard I have painted in their colors as neophytes... but I'd rather field these guys.

One of my gaming group had a Crimson Fist Army back then
Viper is a plastic hybrid from Space hulk, and Leach is one of the Rogue Trader metal hybids. Both have plastic arms and metal Necromunda weapons. Viper has the addition of some imperial guard parts added to his belt and both sport a Space Marine Shoulder pad. Viper's was cut down to make it less recognizable, and had a the squad symbol carved into it. Leach's was looted from a marine (You'll see the other later).

First Post - The Background
Hello, and welcome to my hobby blog! In an attempt to get myself organized I decided to detail my progress by running this blog. Hopefully it helps because 2020 lockdowns kept me working on house projects. Therefore there was almost no progress; save some organization of the hobby area.
Here's some quick bullet points about me:
- Started gaming in the mid 90's with historicals.
- Prior to that there was an attempt to paint some minis with enamels for a D&D game that never really happened.
- One of the guys brought me into a "beer and pretzels" game called Warhammer 40k.
- I could not legally drink at the time.
- I was immediately hooked and started my first army, Eldar (that's it... it's all they were known as in 2nd).
